Born in Lisbon to a Madeiran mother and Mozambican father, Rodrigo spent his early childhood in Liberia, West Africa - until civil war forced his family to flee. He arrived in the U.S., settled in Daytona Beach, and became the first in his family to earn a college degree. At Barry University School of Law, he graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top 3% of his class.
Before entering the Air Force, he clerked for the Honorable Charles E. Erdmann on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces - the highest court in the military justice system. Over eleven years in uniform, he prosecuted 150+ cases as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, defended over 1,100 service members in courts-martial, and was personally selected to represent Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in military commissions at Guantanamo Bay.
In 2023, he returned home to Central Florida. He's direct about the strengths and weaknesses of your case. He'll fight when there's a fight to be had. And when you need him - he's available.
